What Should I Do if I Have a Dental Emergency?

A dental emergency can come up for a wide variety of reasons. A patient can have an abscessed tooth resulting in a lot of pain, or there could have been an accident resulting in teeth being knocked out. Especially as spring and summer sports start back up, there may be an increase in dental emergencies. Let’s make sure you’re prepared.

First, keep your dentist’s contact information on hand at all times. The sooner you can reach your dentist in an emergency, the better it will be. If you have an emergency during normal business hours, just give us a call to see if you can be seen as soon as possible.

What about dental emergencies after hours?

If somebody has an dental emergency and they call our office, they have a few options. One is to leave a message and we’ll get back to them on our next business day. The other option is for patients who need immediate help. In this case, they can reach me directly through the voice mail. It gives prompts and it comes directly to my cellphone. In terms of what needs to be done, it is completely based on what the patient has going on in their mouth and what needs to be taken care of. We’ll find the right solution for each individual and make sure they receive excellent care promptly.
