What are some of the different medications that can affect your teeth?
Dr. Elizabeth Jackson: The main medications that can affect your teeth are medications that dry your mouth out. This is what’s called “xerostomia.”
The biggest categories of those are antidepressants, pain medications, and some heart medications. They dry out your teeth, which can lead to having more decay. A good tip if you’re on these medications is to make sure you’re drinking enough water regularly throughout the day.
